Sure, writing is an easy way to communicate with others around you. And if you enjoy writing, you may prefer to communicate this way. But what happens if the person you're trying to communicate with doesn't speak the same language as you? Or simply doesn't understand what message you're trying to convey?

Art is a unique and creative way to bridge barriers, such as language, when it comes to talking to other people.

Not only can the pictures you draw convey a message, but the colors you use, the perspective you choose, and tons of other things can weigh into how thorough a message you're sending is.

Now obviously art can't replace writing, but it can help you in how you write.

Using art as a language tool can help to bridge gaps between cultures, and help allow us to learn more about one another without having to learn a completely different language.

When it comes to teaching students to write, maybe art is a good first step. If we can teach kids to communicate through their drawings, then we can make it easier for them to put their ideas and visions into words.

Here are some examples of how art can be used as a communication tool.
